Join us in our April Purchase Blackout

Attention, citizens of One Nation United. From April 1st to May 1st, we call upon you to join a powerful movement—a buying blackout targeting major retailers like Target, Amazon, Walmart, and their counterparts. For one month, refrain from purchasing anything beyond absolute necessities from these corporate giants.

Why? Because our collective spending fuels their dominance. Consider this: the average American spends approximately $174 per grocery trip. Redirecting these funds to local, family-owned businesses can significantly impact our communities. Studies show that locally owned stores generate 70% more local economic activity per square foot than chain stores. Moreover, local businesses return more than three times as much money per dollar of sales to the local economy than national chains.

The Math: If just 1,000 of us commit to this boycott, redirecting $174 each week from big-box stores to local businesses, that's $696,000 infused into our local economies in just one month. Imagine the impact if 10,000 or more participate.

Action Steps:

  • Identify Local Alternatives: Seek out local grocers, farmers' markets, and family-owned shops for your necessities. Every dollar spent locally circulates within the community, fostering growth and resilience.

  • Spread the Word: Share this initiative with friends, family, and neighbors. Collective action amplifies our impact.

  • Reflect on Consumption: Use this month to evaluate your purchasing habits. Recognize the power you wield as a consumer.

Remember: This boycott isn't just about withholding our dollars; it's about reclaiming our power and investing in our communities. Big-box retailers have long undercut small businesses, leading to closures and job losses. It's time we reverse that trend.

Join us. Stand united. Support local. Together, we can challenge the status quo and build a more equitable economy.
